Professions are one of the key features in the game Harry Potter: Wizards Unite that determine which Charms and Hexes you will have access to, which Passive Abilities you can develop, and which Foes you will be strongest and weakest against.

Professions are unlocked at Level 6. You can change your Profession at any time, however your Statistics are not cumulative. You will only have access to the Hexes and Charms of your current profession, as well as the Statistics and Passive Abilities you have developed while that Profession is active.

Eg. If you Master being a Magizoologist and then switch to being an Auror, your statistics will reset to that of a Level 1 Auror. If you change back to Magizoologist, your statistics will return to the level you developed them as a Magizoologist.

Expertise

Each Profession will be Proficient (do more damage to and receive less damage from) against one type of Foe and will be Deficient against (do less damage to and receive more damage from) another.

In Fortress Challenges, Magis are healers that have Charms that can restore stamina, revive teammates, and inspire the whole team to be more effective against Elite Foes.

Magis are the "Tank" profession, in that they have the highest defence and stamina of the three professions.

Professors are the Witches and Wizards that instruct and shape the future generations of the Wizarding World.

Professors are the most balanced of the professions. They have the ability to debilitate Foes through Hexes, protect themselves and their teammates with protective charms, and to strengthen everyone's Proficiency.

Professors are the most balanced of the three Professions regarding Power and Defence.

Lesson Plans

Each Profession has a Lesson Plan that contains a skill tree of Lessons for you to develop for your character. Each time you lean a new level of a Lesson, you will gain Profession XP that will increase your level in that specific Profession.

Lessons

See Main Article: Lessons

Lessons will do one of four things...

  • Increase one of your Statistics
  • Teach or improve a Hex
  • Teach or improve a Charm
  • Grant you a new Passive Ability

To lean a Lesson, you will need Scrolls. Scrolls are obtained by increasing your level in the Exploration and Events sections of the Registry.

Some Lessons may require Spell Books (AKA Red Books), while others may require Restricted Section Books (AKA Green Books).
